United Nations Honor Guard[edit | edit source]
The United Nations Honor Guard (UNHG) is an official military force representative of the United Nations. It is the second largest military force directly controlled by the United Nations, the largest of which being the Peacekeeper Corps. UNHG officers are often found accompanying UN ambassadors, SDC Admirals and Peacekeeper Corps Officials. Alongside these duties they are seen commonly on SDC ships such as the HCR-146 SDCN Emissary in the event of first contact with an alien civilisation.
Personnel[edit | edit source]
The United Nations Honor Guard consists of approximately 500,000 personnel. Each Honor Guard goes through 8 months of training to prepare them for various duties from escort to first contact.
Duties[edit | edit source]
United Nations Honor Guard officers can take a large variety of duties. They are often escorts for SDC Admiralty, Peacekeeper Corps Officials and UN Diplomats. They are also seen in use at UN embassies as guards. One of the rarest duties for Honor Guards is to be stationed aboard an SDCN vessel, on the majority of SDCN vessels only one Honor Guard is stationed, they are to be treated the same as a security officer of the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer and have authority to enter the bridge as wished. They may assist security personnel but are primarily to aid in first contact with intelligent alien species if the opportunity is to arise.
Uniform[edit | edit source]
United Nations Honor Guard uniform consists of black boots, long black suit pants, a white dress shirt under a light blue coat, donned with silver accents and an United Nations insignia on the side of the shoulder.
