Earth, nicknamed the Blue Marble, is the third planet in the Sol System and the only planet with conditions naturally suitable for human life.

Functionally it serves as the capital of the United Nations and AXIOM Corporation, and holds immense political power in the system scale. Its population as of 2113 is 13.7 billion.

Earth has a nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere with a highly varied climate and holds plenty of biomes suitable for all ranges of life to thrive on the planet.

Due to global warming, Earth is slated to become uninhabitable in the next several centuries. The Final Frontier Project has been commissioned by the United Nations to find new planets for humanity to colonize.

Earth’s own overpopulation has been offset by massive hydroponic complexes that dominate major city centers, the complexes growing fruits and vegetables as well as lab-grown meat and genetically engineered seafood. The housing crisis still remains prevalent in developing countries, with real estate prices fluctuating rapidly in the wake of new construction projects combined with escalating real estate prices.

Virtually all of Earth’s power generation comes from renewable energy, a significant portion of which comes from fusion power to replace the dying breed of nuclear fission reactors that once owned the planet’s power in the 2030s, an industry dominated by the AXIOM Corporation. The rest is made of windmills, solar plants, and hydroelectricity, with other alternative sources becoming more and more prevalent.

Despite its promising future, Earth’s politics lay in constant flux, with the advent of space exploration combined with the new UN throwing regional powers into conflict.

Earth has one satellite moon, named Luna.
