The HSG-37 is a top-loaded Personal Defense Weapon (PDW) built for usage within the Peacekeeper Corps and Sol Defense Corps for both crowd control and as compact automatic SMG for usage in close quarters situation. The weapon is built from the 21st century P90, with additional attachments and modifications added.

Performance

The HSG-37 is a reliable personal defense weapon in wide usage by security and Peacekeeper forces around the globe. The large integrated muzzle brake allows easy dispersion of propellant and, while the cartridge may fire slower, the weapon has much less recoil and can be used sustainably for considerable periods of time, capable of laying down continued fire.

Ammunition

The HSG is traditionally chambered in 5.7x28mm (.224) 93-grain copper-jacketed ammunition, a cartridge that was developed in itself from the P90's FN 5.7x28 ammunition. The round is a low-speed, subsonic cartridge efficient and silent at short ranges but quickly loses power and accuracy at more than 70 meters.

The 5.7x30mm Marksman is 98-grain ammunition, often used for longer-distance engagements. This round is unconventional due to the weapon's natural inaccuracy and design for close-quarters combat.

In crowd control situations the HSG can alternatively be loaded with nonlethal electroshock stun shells that fire in low velocity and are used to electrically stun a target in a similar method as a taser. The rounds are distinguished from lethal rounds by their nonconductive aluminum and rubber jackets, to prevent unintended discharge.

Attachments

Attached to the HSG-37 are an S403 Red Dot Sight (RDS) mounted on the rail as well as an integrated 32mm-diameter muzzle brake at the barrel, used for discharge and quick action.
