The Model A12g 12-gauge shotgun shell is an updated version of the 12-gauge shotgun shell used in the 20th and 21st centuries. It is the primary ammunition used for the RSG-12 and the underbarrel shotguns of the M7AS and the M20SP.

The cartridge's dimensions are 11.33mm (0.446 in.) by 64mm (2.5 in.). The cartridge is encased in a polymer painted different colors depending on its variation.

Variants[edit | edit source]

  • A12BS: Standard buckshot. Red-cased cartridge firing #00-Buck at 8 pellets/oz.
  • A12SL: Slug. Fires a single 422-grain heavy composite tungsten slug, designed for maximum stopping power at medium range. Green casing.
  • A12FL: Flechette. Fires several small steel darts at high velocity for armor-piercing capability and low spread. Violet casing.
  • A12BB: Beanbag. Low-pressure, low-velocity heavy beanbags fired opt for nonlethal stopping power capable of downing targets with minimal sustained injuries. Blue casing.
